TU Mens Basketball, TU vs. Colorado
Yesterday I took my camera to the University of Tulsa basketball game against the Colorado Buffaloes. The Golden Hurricane won 84-59, and it was a pretty fun game to watch even though I don’t really know a whole lot about basketball. I think that in order to shoot sports you have to understand the game, since it helps to know what to look for in good shots. I spent a lot of the time looking in the wrong spots and missing good action shots.
I wish I could shoot closer to the court, but since I don’t have press credentials that’s not really an option. In fact, I’m surprised they let me into the game with my camera. I’ve heard most sporting venues don’t like to let fans in with gigantic telephoto lenses. I got a few strange looks from people but nobody told me I couldn’t shoot so that was good.
