Autocross at Tulsa Raceway Park
I went to another autocross event hosted by SCCA last weekend. This was the first event I’ve been to held at the Tulsa Raceway Park. I took lots of photos and I’ve gotten better at getting a decent shot of at least every driver. My favorite car this time out was definitely the Audi R8.
I’ve been trying to make the panning shots more interesting but I’m running into problems since I don’t know what else to do. I’d like to eventually be good enough to pull off something like this. I really enjoy looking at the zoom/blur in photos like that.
In other news I just sold my Canon XSi and I’ve been thinking about what to funnel the money into. The top of the list includes a 1.4 teleconverter, a cheap prime zoom lens to throw in my backpack, a lensbaby 3G composer, a intervalometer, and if possible a replacement tripod head (panning and geared). I don’t think I have enough money for all of that, even shopping used from keh.com so I need to do some more planning.
Also I’m thinking of buying the components to take car photos using a rig. A recent guide was posted to diyphotography that looked rather easy to put together. I may make some changes but the setup seems easy and only a few hundred dollars. I’ve started to think about locations around Tulsa that could work.
